Last Pear Tree Designs Challenge of 2010 - Christmas!!

This week is the final challenge for the year over at Pear Tree Designs...what a lot of fun we've had this year!! This week's sponsor is One Stop Card Crafts, so pop on over and join in!

It's a Christmas theme this week, so I decided to go with a Stampin Up reindeer stamp which I love! I stamped it using a Distress ink and added a little glitter to the antlers. I used papers from my fave Papermania pad and followed a PTD sketch from a few weeks ago, as I love the layout. The ribbon is from my stash and the snowflakes were cut with Marianne dies. The greeting is a Lili of the Valley one.

Challenge 29 for Pear Tree Designs-Winter Wonderland!

This week's theme over at Pear Tree Designs is Winter Wonderland and this week's sponsor is the Character Cafe, with a second prize of a crafty goodie bag... so pop over with your Xmas cards!!

I decided to use one of my favourite Little Claire stamps...I think it works so well for Christmas & winter birthday cards! I coloured her in with my promarkers and added some glitter to the hood and trim on her coat. The backing paper is from last year's Daisy & Dandelion pad, and I matted it onto dark blue card. I embossed a panel of white card with my snowflake folder and added a little extra sparkle to it with Spray & Sparkle....doesn't show in the photo though grrrr.
I finished the card with with some die cut snowflakes, gems, a chipboard greeting, and a couple of pearls in the corners.

Challenge 28 at Pear Tree Designs-Sketch with a Twist

This week's challenge at Pear Tree Designs is a sketch with the twist of gems somewhere on your project! Our sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish Designs and we had a lovely set of images to play with as DT members.

I chose this cute little snowman as I thought he was adorable...he has been coloured in with Promarkers as usual, and mounted onto a snowflake embossed label. I used papers from one of my fave Papermania pads which all work so well together. The ribbon is from my stash, as are the gems.

Challenge 27 for Pear Tree Designs- Colourful!

Here is my card for this week's challenge at Pear Tree Designs...and this week's theme is Colourful. Our sponsor this week is Cardmadfairy's Card Creations who has 4 Xmas digis for the lucky winner!

The paper came to me first this week, I always wanted to use this but always been a bit nervous of such a bright paper lol....but it works really well with this stamp from Little Claire's. Both the paper are from a DCWV pad. I used my trusty Promarkers to colour the image and added some snowy sparkle with Stickles. I diecut some snowflakes from red card and added some snowflakes gems to the centres. The ribbon is from my stash, and the sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

Challenge 26 for Pear Tree Designs- Shaker Card!

This week's challenge over at Pear Tree Designs is to make a shaker card...and the DT were all sent some images from our sponsor Cardmadfairy's Creations to have a play with!

I got this lovely digi to use, and I knew instantly which papers I wanted to use with her...they are from a Papermania paper pad which I love! I coloured the image in with my promarkers, adding some stickles for sparkle. I thought the music sheet paper was fab, and used a co-ordinating paper to make the frame for the shaker. My best friend kindly donated the seed beads to fill it with...didn't have anything like that lol. I added a poinsettia and lace from my stash, and the sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

November's Club Stamp from Little Claire's.

The club stamp for Novemember over at Little Claire's is a gorgeous little girl, I love this stamp, it's very me!!

The first card I made with this stamp was a birthday card, although it can also be used as an Xmas card. I coloured the image in with Promarkers and glittered the fur a little for extra sparkle. The papers are My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus pad, love them!! I inked up the edges of the image and sentiments. I embellished the card with flowers and a button from my stash...and the sentiment is part of the set.

The second card is an Xmas themed one, using festive colours for the girl. Again, she is coloured in with promarkers and glittered on the fur for sparkle. I also added glitter around the label frame...can't have too much glitter for Xmas lol. The papers are from a Papermania pad and are matted with dark green card. The poinsettia is from my stash and the sentiment is a Lili of a Valley stamp.

Wow no new cards for ages then 3 in one night lol...the girl ones were made ages ago though lol x

I decided to get another Xmas card out of the way, and had this lovely little stamp from Pink Gem Designs to ink up...and I wasn't disappointed!!! I coloured this cute snow couple in with my Promarkers and added some glitter for extra sparkle! The backing papers are from a Papermania Xmas pad, matted onto pink card. I used a band of ribbon wrapped on pink card for the side of the sketch. The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp. I also cut some snowflakes from glitter card and embellished with a gem.

Pear Tree Designs Challenge 24- Bonfire Night

This week's challenge over at Pear Tree Designs is Bonfire Night, and our sponsor this week is the Character Cafe....so check it out!

I had seen this lovely stamp at Pink Gem Designs and thought it would be perfect for this card, as it's called Guy Fawkes Millie...it's so sweet! I coloured Millie in with promarkers, adding highlights with a white gel pen and matting her onto label Nesties. The backing paper is from a new paper pad I bought at the Arena, can't remember what it's called though! I cut 2 squares of black card, rounded the corners, and used the star part of the stamp to make some fireworks, which I glittered up to add some sparkle! Some black gems from my stash finish the card.

Pear Tree Designs Challenge 23-Halloween!

This week's challenge over at Pear Tree Designs is Halloween, and we were given some lovely digis to play with by Robyn's Fetish...this one especially caught my eye!!

I went for a distressed look as I was desperate to play with my Distress Inks that I bought at the craft show. I coloured the digi in with promarkers as normal, matted onto black card, and inked the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink. I used more of the Halloween papers from the Daisy & Dandelion pad I used last week, again inking the edges. I made a little sign to hang on the gate using part of one of the other digis we were sent, and attached it some string and a brad. I finished off with some buttons from my stash!

I hope you like it...it was a nice distraction from all the items I've been making for some craft stalls me and my best friend are doing before Xmas....I seem to be knee deep in card and ribbon every day at the moment lol....but I'm loving it :) Hence the reason I'm not posting on here as often though!

I am also entering it into a few other Halloween challenges:

Craft Challenge: Spooky
My Time to Craft: Halloween
A Spoonful of Sugar: Boo!
Creative Inspirations: Halloween/Fall

I love all things Halloween and really wanted to use this digi from Pollycraft for this week's card. I coloured her in with Promarkers and added some white highlights with a gel pen. I used papers from a Daisy & Dandelion Halloween pack I bought last year...love the colours of these! I then embossed a label with my Halloween Cuttlebug folder and highlighted it with some stickles. I mounted my witch onto this with some foam pads for dimension, and finished off with gems from my stash. The sentiment is also from the D&D pack.

Stash-tastic!!!

Me and my best friend Paula spent a lovely day at the Creative Crafts for Christmas at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle today...and despite less stalls selling cardmaking stuff than last year....I managed to come home with a bag bulging with goodies! Paula was much more restrained than me...she always is lol.

Anyway, I started with some essentials like blades for my fave knife and some 6x6 cards...I'd completely run out! Then I decided to treat myself to some Distress Inks that I've wanted for ages, some Gorjuss stamps, ribbons, gems, funky xmas cardstock, backing papers, Cosmic Shimmer Mist, a couple of promarkers and various other bits!!

Can't wait for next year's stash trip...we're doing the Harrogate shows instead, as the one at the Arena isn't as good as it used to be sadly...and we need more goodies, and more money to buy them with too!!!

Birthday cards for my daughter

It's my youngest's 7th birthday today , and she had requested a High School Musical card in an easel style, which of course I was happy to do!! Gotta love a girl who knows exactly what she wants!!

For Jess's card, I found an image on the net of Troy (her fave character) and printed it onto photo paper, and mounted onto dark pink card. I used some papers from the Wild Rose Studio Polka Dot pack. I added some gems and ribbons from my stash, and the sentiment was a freebie from somewhere, can't remember where though! I inked the edges to tone with the papers. The number stamp was one from a Dovecraft set and was cut into shape with my nesties.

She loved it...and I got a HUGE hug lol.

Pear Tree Designs Challenge 20 card.

This week's theme over at Pear Tree Designs is Good Luck, so a card is required with the sentiment somewhere on it. Our sponsor this week is the Character Cafe, so pop over and check out the prize on offer!

Onto my card...I had a bit of a mind block at first as I didn't have many stamps which I thought suitable for a Good Luck card, but then I remembered this cute digi that I haven't used.... a cute owl from Digistamp Boutique. I used some green papers from a Papermania pad called Secret Garden and matted them with some olive card. The digi was coloured in with promarkers and cut to shape with Nesties, and some stickles added for sparkle. I embellished the card with some buttons from my stash and used a Lili of the Valley stamp for the sentiment.

October Club Stamp from Little Claire's.

Finally I can show these samples I made using the new stamp from Little Claire's....it is the stamp for October's club and is so cute! It has some very cute details to it and stamps up really well.

The first card I made was a 6in square card. I coloured the image in with Promarkers, and cut it into a label shape with my Nesties, and matted with red card. I inked the edges with beige ink and added stickles for extra sparkle. The backing paper is from a Dovecrafts pad and the ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley one. Some red gems completed the card.

I tried something a little different with the second sample....an acetate fronted card. I cut the front section away from a 5x7 card blank and attached a piece of acetate to the front. I coloured the image in with promarkers again, and used my label nesties for matting. Stickles was added to the owls hats and snowy bits for sparkle. I embellished the corners of the card with some swirly peel offs and cut a snowflake out of glitter card. The paper on the inside of the card is a Papermania one from last year.

This week's theme is Celebration over at Pear Tree Designs...the prize this week is from Robyn's Fetish, so pop on over and check it out!

I decided to do a new baby card for the challenge....I used a Lili of the Valley image which I love, so cute! She is coloured in with Promarkers and I added some sparkle with Stickles. The backing paper is from Dovecrafts Piece of Cake pad, which I mounted onto pink cardstock. I used my Nesties for layering the image, and embossed 2 panels of white card using the Cuttlebug baby folder. I inked these panels with pale pink ink to bring out the details. I embellished with some handmade flowers that I cut with some Marianne flower dies, and a computer printed sentiment.

New Stamp from Little Claire's.

I received this adorable stamp this week from Little Claire's and couldn't wait to sit down and play!

It's a sweet giraffe, and not just for xmas if you cut the tree and holly off....I made a couple of cards with him to show this...they'll be on their way to Gill at Little Claire's on Monday!

The first card was an Xmas one, I coloured him in with Promarkers and cut him out with my Nesties. I embossed some panels of card using a snowflake folder and mounted these onto red card. The sentiment is a Kanban one I think.....I like the way this card has turned out, it's quite simple but very festive!

The second card was to show another idea for the stamp, a get well card! Again he was coloured in with Promarkers and cut out with Nesties. The backing paper is a 12x12 sheet I bought at a craft stal, not sure who makes it though. I embossed a strip of lilac card, and added that across the middle of the card. I embellished it with a bow and Card Candy from my stash, and stamped a simple sentiment.

OMG how long since I've posted???

Oh gosh, where has the week gone?? It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since last Monday when I posted my DT card for Pear Tree....and now it's that time again!! I must explain my absence....me and my best friend Paula are planning on selling some of our crafty bits at a fair, so preparations have begun in earnest for that!!

Anyway, onto this week's Pear Tree Designs card....this week, we have a sketch to follow, with a twist, the twist being gems somewhere on the card. The prize this week is from Lilac Lemon Designs....so hop on over and check it out!

I chose a cute Tilda image to use this wee, which I coloured in with my trusty Promarkers, adding some Stickles to the roses. The backing papers are from My Minds Eye, love these so much! The ric-rac, flowers and gems are from my stash. I also used my Nesties for Tilda's panel and the sentiment panel...the sentiment is a Wild Rose Studio stamp.

I coloured her using Promarkers and added white highlights with a gel pen & Stickles for some sparkle. The backing paper is from Forever Friends Pink Parfait pad which I mounted onto a dark pink springfold base (made by me lol). I used my Nesties for matting Anya and added her to the centre. Night Owls Stamps from Little Claire's.

I was sent these lovely stamps from Little Claire's to have a play with and finally got the chance to play on Thursday....now the kids are back to school, I can get back into my crafty routine lol.

The first card was a spring fold card...I've been wanting to try one of these for ages and finally got round to it...and they're so much easier than I thought! I used dark blue card for the card base and the blue paper was from a folder on my laptop. I stamped the owls 4 times and coloured them in with promarkers. I cut each one into a square and highlighted each with Stickles. I mounted them onto dark blue then silver mirri card and stuck it to the diamond top of the card. I used some peel offs from Little Claire's for the sentiment and decoration.

The second card is a 5 in square card and the backing paper is from a Wild Rose Studio pad. I stamped the owls again, and coloured the owls in with Promarkers but used ink for the sky, rubbing it on with cotton wool. I decoupaged the owls to give a bit of extra dimension, and cut them into separate squares and mounted onto brown Bazzill card. I added some lace, gems, and flowers from my stash and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

My DT card for Pear Tree Designs.

It's Challenge 16 this week over on Pear Tree Designs and this week's theme is Animals. I had an anniversary card to make for my darling hubby and thought straight away of the animals I wanted to use! The prize this week is a Guest DT spot for a month, a crafty goody bag, and 3 digi images from Donna's store.

I used a Penny Black image of 2 hedgehogs and coloured them in with promarkers, highlighting the heart with Stickles. The backing paper is from my stash, not sure where it came from but it matched the cardstock perfectly. I embossed a panel with my Swiss Dots folder and added a sweet sentiment. The hedgehogs are mounted onto oval nesties. The buttons & string are from my stash, and the greeting was done on my computer...note to self, need some anniversary greetings or stamps!!

September Club Stamps for Little Claires.

I just wanted to share these cards I've made using this month's club set from Little Claires....it's a lovely festive set with a poinsettia, xmas pud, a cracker, adorable penguin and some greeting stamps.

The first card was made using the poinsettia stamp....coloured in with my promarkers and highlighted with gold pen and Stickles for some sparkle. I cut a triangle from the front section of a green card blank and added an Anita's border strip to the edge. The paper is from a Forever Friends Xmas pack, attached to the inside of the card blank. I used my Nesties to layer up the poinsettia and attched it to the front. A bow from my stash and a simple sentiment completes the card.

For my second card, I used the cute penguin, he was coloured in to match the backing papers and I added some sparkle to his hat with Stickles. The backing paper was from a freebie bundle I had on my computer and I used some blue card for layering. I embossed a panel with snowflakes and layered it with the penguin. The ribbon and gems are from my stash, the snowflake is an Anita's dimension sticker, and the sentiment is one from the set.

Birthday card for my daughter...from my mum!

My mum asked me to make a birthday card for my eldest who's 11 this Thursday (OMG already...she's growing up way too fast!)....so I chose Kiki with cupcakes from Pollycraft and made another easel card.

I coloured Kiki in with promarkers, and added some stickles to the cake's icing. The spotty paper is from Wild Rose Studio's Polka Dot pack, not sure which pad the check one came from though!! I matted with white card and drew some faux stitches around the image. The ribbons and gems are from my stash, and the MS punch came out to play again for the border. The sentiment stamp is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

I am entering this into a few challenges too: Crafty Cardmakers whose theme is Birthdays, Crafty Catz whose theme is animals (hoping a bear counts??), and Ooh La La whose theme is Spots & Dots!

My daughter's birthday card...take 2!!

Here's the second attempt at a birthday card for my eldest...she saw the last one I made for her, but as it happens, I like this one more anyway!!

I used this lovely Sugar Nellie image which reminded me a lot of her, she loves to bake, always ahs done..and I coloured her to match some My Minds Eye papers, which I love!! I used some Bazzill cardstock for matting & layering and used my Nesties to cut the image & mount into ovals.
The buttons, gems, and thread are from my stash, and the lace trim is my MS punch. The sentiment is a computer printed one cut into a label shape.

I used the sketch at Moving Along with the Times, rotating it slightly to put the buttons at the left. This card also fits the challenges at Charisma Cardz which is Easel this week, and Cupcake Crafts, whose theme is Lace...I'm hoping my lacy trim counts :)

Birthday card for my Nephew

I had this card to make for my nephew who's 12 tomorrow..saw this digi at Pollycraft and thought it would be perfect for him.

I used some My Minds Eye paper from the Wild Asparagus pad and used some Bazzill card for matting and layering. The digi was coloured in with promarkers in camouflage colours to tone with the paper...my friend came to my rescue with the green as I didn't have the "right" shade...thanks Paula :) I turned down the corner to show the lovely reverse side of the paper and embellished with a button from my stash. I finished the card by stamping nephew along the bottom with a new Papermania stamp in black ink.

Last Xmas card...for now!

This is another Xmas stamp from Little Claire, I liked this one because it was quite different from others I've seen and can be coloured in so many ways!

I went for a pastel colour scheme for this as I had these Xmas papers calling my name....it's a DCWV pad in mainly pinks. I coloured the image in with promarkers, adding some glitter to highlight the baubles & presents. The sentiment is another Lili of the Valley stamp and the pearls are from my stash. The snowflake was cut using my new Marianne Designs set and highlighted with some glitter and a gem.

I will be definitely playing with these stamps some more, they are all so lovely, and stamp so cleanly & crisply.

This card is also featuring one of the new Little Claire's stamps "Star of Wonder"....and again, such a cute stamp which I loved using!

I coloured the bears in with promarkers and made the star twinkle with some Stickles. The paper is taken from the Daisy and Dandelion A Winters Tale pad, and matted onto dark blue card. I also embossed a panel of the card with a snowflake folder and used gems to highlight the flakes. The ribbon is from my stash and I added an Anita's dimensional snowflake to the corner.

I coloured the snowman and westie in with Promarkers, added some sparkle with Stickles, and cut it into labels with my Nesties. I used my lacy punch to make a border which I wrapped with some ribbon from my stash. I finished the card with some gems & a bow and a festive red button!

Anyhoo...the card is made using a digi stamp from Pollycraft called Codi Stylin...it reminds me so much of my daughter, she's a real tomboy with some girlie thrown in! The paper is from Wild Rose Studio's Polka Dots pack and is matted onto pink cardstock. I used my MS lace punch for the border and the ribbon is from my stash. I coloured Codi in with my Promarkers and added some Stickles for extra sparkle and mounted her onto oval Nestie shapes. The flowers and buttons are also from my stash, and the sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp.

I am entering this card into a few challenges: Pear Tree Designs whose sketch I followed, Creative Inspirations whose theme is Anything Goes, Creative Card Crew whose theme is Cute & Girlie, and Cute Card Thursday whose theme is Whateva!!

Been making some cards with Little Claire's August Stamps!

Little Claire has released a new stamp set for their monthly club offer...you pay £7.50 a month and receive a stamp/set plus all the materials to make the project card and some other project ideas...check out their website for more details here This month's set is great for those male cards that crop up, and would suit any man!

For the first card, I used the hammock stamp, and paperpieced it to match one of the backing papers. I coloured in the main image with my promarkers and decoupaged the beer glass & jeans for more dimension. The backing papers were from K & Co's Hopscotch pad and I embellished the card with card candy and some buttons from my stash. The sentiment is one of the stamps from the set.

The second card is the second stamp from the set...a quirky washing line with boxer shorts lol! I paperpieced the boxers to coordinate with the backing papers, and inked the panel with green ink and embellished with some brads from my stash. The backing papers are from the same pad as the card above and the sentiment is also a stamp from the set. Some more card candy finishes the card....now off to Little Claire's they go!!

Been playing with some peeloffs....

Little Claire's have sent us DT members some peel offs to sample and play with...and they are really cute! I must admit I don't usually use peel offs but I loved the owl ones straight away! I made a couple of cards with the sheet and I am pleased with the way they turned out!

Firstly I made a spinner card using some papers from the Papermania Secret Garden pad, I even had some with little owls on! I cut the aperture into my card usng my nesties and cut a circle on which to put the owl on. I used some strong thread to suspend the owl in the aperture, and I coloured him in with my promarkers. There is a peel off sentiment on the other side of the circle and the ribbon is from my stash. Some gems finished the card.

The second card was made with a trio of owl peel offs, again coloured in with my promarkers and mounted onto label nesties. I went for a DL card for a change, and used some paper from a magazine freebie featuring owls....seemed perfect! I added some lacy trims and inked the labels with some green ink to match the backing paper. I used a peel off greeting from the sheet and embellished the card with some gems for extra bling!!

Birthday card for my lovely mum

It was my mum's birthday today, so I'd made this card earlier in the week and can now show it lol.

I had this lovely fairy stamp from Lili of the Valley to play with so I stamped her up and coloured her in with my trusty promarkers. I used some papers from a Forever Friends pad and layered onto pink cardstock. I used my Martha Stewart punch for the lacy border and made a bow with some ribbon from my stash. I added glitter to the fairy's wings & skirt for extra sparkle. I added a punched butterfly also glittered and the roses are from my stash. I printed the greeting out on the pc and die cut with my Nesties.

I am entering this card into a few challenges: Craftilicious whose theme is Birthdays, Pollycraft Monday Challenge whose theme was also Happy Birthday, and My Time to Craft who wanted Checks this week!

Wallet card for my best friend

It was my best friend's birthday today and I had an idea of making a wallet card for her to hold some stamped images....it turned out to be easier than I'd thought!

I used some backing papers from the free My Minds Eye paper pad from Cardmaking & Papercraft mag...love these!! The image is Thomas with flowers from Lili of the Valley, coloured in with my promarkers. I added some ribbon with a punched lacy border and embellished with Stickles, some gems & some flowers from my stash. The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley one too.

I followed the sketch at Pear Tree Designs for this week's challenge Sketch with a Twist...ribbon being the twist, I used 2 lots...one on the border and one to tie the card together! It also fits this week's challenge at Cupcake Crafts which is Cats and Dogs....I'm hoping Thomas fits this perfectly!

A New baby card for a friend!

I finally have a card to show after doing secret projects for Little Claire!! I heard that one of my daughter's friend's mum has just had a baby boy so had to make her a card...and try out the Baby Cuttlebug folder I bought on Sunday hehe :)

I used Papermania's Sweet Nothings pad for the backing paper, and matted with some sky blue card. I embossed a panel using the Baby folder and brought out the embossing with some blue ink. The image was a digi from Cardmaking Downloads (I think...) and was coloured in with my promarkers. I diecut it into an oval with my nesties. The flowers and brads are from my stash, and the sentiment is a stamp from Wild Rose Studios' cute greetings set.

I am entering this card into a couple of challenges: C.R.A.F.T challenge who want a card for babies/kids and One Stitch at a Time whose theme is Digi Madness!
